Apple executives continue to refer to their Apple TV set-top box business as a “hobby” — which is a polite word for “failure”. Time for that to change: If Steve Jobs wants to make a serious run at owning our living room’s “digital hub”, then Apple TV needs a serious overhaul, ASAP.

This newsbit actually freaked me out. If you’re a paranoid-delusional, then this is something you’d rather not know. But then again, anyone who would be reading about this would become paranoid-delusional as well.
Remember how Google apparently tracks everything that you do with them? Well, get ready for this – they’re making public how they dish out customized search results for you. And yes, it involves something about your location (tracked via your IP), your recent searches, and your web history (which they record if you search while logged in another service like Mail or Reader).
Sure, you could appreciate their transparency. But it does come off as a confirmation of your worst fears. Anyway, here are more tips on making your searches private.

The exploit discovered by IOActive’s Dan Kaminsky, takes advantage of a fundamental flaw in the DNS (Domain Name Server) protocol. Organizations should move quickly to patch vulnerable DNS servers against a flaw revealed last week. Dan Kaminsky said the bug can be exploited to redirect Internet traffic, but the problem has been solved by implementing port randomization.
